This year is quite the whirlwind already. Feeling quite swept up and carried away with all it’s events and excitement. So much for the calm boat like journey upon a lake of glass I was intending for the commencement of the new year.

This subject of course was the main topic of conversation this week during high teas with friends. High Tea is a very gracious way to catch up with one’s acquaintances and dear friends after the months of revelry and high excitement. The environment is comforting; the tea soothing; delicate pastries and sandwiches fortifying with conversation bright and uplifting. For some of us, after the holidays with families and their blends,rediscovering our friends is necessary therapy!

Even with our wilting Australian Summer upon us,how refreshed the ladies seem in light floating silk dresses accompanied with very fine and light woven straw hats. Cloches worn at tea are the perfect accessory in which to enjoy indoor conversation without clashing brims with ones either side companions, whilst balancing tea cups and enjoying scones piled high with jam and cream.What delights we share!
